Other Balido Orange Wine 750ml (11.5%)

Trebbiano and Petit Manseng from Cerro Chapeu, Northern Uruguay.

Orange peel • fresh herbs • crisp • textured

A unique orange wine with an amber glow, named ‘Balido’ (Spanish for ‘bleating’) in tribute to the sheep that naturally prune the vineyard in winter. The majority of the wine is Trebbiano, but the vibrant hue and incredible structure come from a long maceration on the skins of Petit Manseng grapes. It's bottled with no filtration, giving it a wonderfully textured mouthfeel and a truly unique character.

Cerro Chapeu is a small family-run vineyard deep in the Uruguayan Pampas, on the border with Brazil. Here, nature is prioritised, with the newest generation, Pía and Piero Carrau, following the same respectful, minimal intervention philosophy as their grandfather who first planted the vines. The vineyard is alive with local flora and fauna, and sheep roam freely, keeping the ground healthy
