Balansa 2023 Peche de Rozieres Natural Rose 750ml (13.5%)
Grenache and Syrah from Languedoc, France.
Salmon hue • wild berries • pure • mineral.
Named after the 'Rozies Hills' where the grapes are grown, this Rosé is a direct-press blend of Grenache and Syrah, yielding a beautiful salmon hue. It is a serious, food-friendly wine with a highly pure, juice-like profile of wild berries, strawberry, and redcurrant, underscored by a notable schist-driven minerality. It is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and large oak, before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
Domaine Balansa is run by Céline Peyre and Alexandre Gressent, who cultivate old vines across 14 hectares in the Hautes-Corbières, in the Aude region of France. Their approach is rooted in biodynamic farming, with a commitment to minimal intervention that began in autumn 2018. Their philosophy prioritises biodiversity and a non-intrusive approach to viticulture to ensure the wines truly reflect their unique high-altitude, schist-laden terroir, which benefits from a dry, sunny, and windy Mediterranean climate.
